The Bromley Buzz podcast, which is easily found on all popular podcasting platforms including Spotify, Audible, and Apple Podcasts, clocks up its third year of broadcasting on 4th August 2024. The podcast, founded by Darren Weale of In Tune PR, Sarah Marsh-Collings of babel Monkey Digital Marketing, and Clarity Coach Zeenat Noorani, and with graphic design help from Tim Dawson of Zoo Design, has published almost 200 episodes, including over 200 interviews with people from all walks of life in Bromley.
A community podcast above all, business has featured prominently in the output of the Bromley Buzz, with interviews including then Small Business Champion and twice-Mayor of Bromley Cllr Hannah Gray, all four of the borough's MP's prior to the recent general election, Loretta Awuah and Chandra Sharma of Start Up Bromley, Zoe Griffiths and Andy Bawn from Your Bromley (the Bromley BID), Jane Rogers, Chair of Beckenham Business Association, and many more. Plus people involved in charity, the arts, sport (for example, Andy Woodman, fast becoming a legendary Bromley FC Manager), and numerous other activities.
Earlier this year, the Bromley Buzz team launched 'Bromley BuzzUp' free, all-sector networking meetings (pictured) that are held in different locations each month. Special Guests have included former Kent County cricketer (and now Hayes Cricket Club captain) Alex Blake;David Winstanley, CEO of Biggin Hill Airport;Janet Lewis, OBE, Founder of English Youth Ballet;and comedian, author and podcaster Rosie Wilby of The Breakup Monologues.
The podcast is sponsored by the Shampan Group of restaurants and Ian Wood Property. Listening and social media links, events, a blog and more can be found on the website www.bromleybuzz.uk.
Darren Weale said of the anniversary, "Three years have flown by! We've loved championing and bringing together Bromley and along with media such as Bromley Radio, the Life In magazines, and others, being a channel for people to enjoy and to engage with. There have been many highlights, from interviews in Bromley Little Theatre and Down House to artist Beci Ward leading a drawing, ice-breaker session in the July Bromley BuzzUp, and simply helping people to find their voices. I am proud to have been on BBC Radio London several times for the Buzz and Bromley, and of our monthly column in County Chronicle magazine, and we have more plans to grow and to innovate."
