Do you have a business idea but don’t know the next steps to make it a reality? This 4 -part ‘bootcamp’ is aimed at aspiring entrepreneurs

Do you have a business idea but don’t know the next steps to make it a reality? This 4 -part start up ‘bootcamp’ is aimed at all aspiring entrepreneurs (either with or without an idea) between the ages of 17-25 that would like to start their own businesses.

In this fun and interactive boot camp you will learn how to become the successful entrepreneur that you have always dreamed about. From writing a business plan and developing a financial forecast, to sales and marketing, market research and setting up your business, this bootcamp is designed to take you through all the steps you need to consider on your way to opening your first business and making it a success.

At the end of the programme, you will be given the chance to enter a competition and pitch your idea to a panel of judges.

Session 1 Friday 16th August 10am – 12pm

. How to find and validate business ideas
. How to turn your skills and passions into business assets
. Learn about the realities of self-employment
. What is included in a business plan and financial forecasts
. Where to locate financial resources to start your venture
. The importance of making a profit

Session 2 Friday 23rd August 10am – 11.30am (Online)

How to complete a business model canvas and demonstrate to anyone (in a single page) how your business works and how you will make money

Session 3 Friday 30th August 10am – 12pm

· What research is needed, where to find information and how to carry it out
· Learn about patents and copyrights
· We’ll cover your trading options and the different business styles
· The do’s and don’ts of choosing your trading name
· The statutory obligations of running a business and market regulations

Session 4 Friday 6th September 10am – 12pm

· How to create your online and offline marketing launch plan
· Setting up your website and social media
· Pricing, quotations and contracts
· Contingency planning
· AI and software tools available to SMEs
· Support available to small business owners
. 3-month action plan to get you off to a flying start
